Our mission is to bridge STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts+design, and mathematics) and sustainable learning to help youth discover their potential in the field while inspiring commitment to protect our Earth among the next generation.

PULS is committed to building a lab that can be a model of sustainability. The lab is an up-cycled shipping container that is powered 100% by solar energy. Much of the equipment and supplies have been donated by community members and schools. For each module, we focus on using supplies that are plastic-free, reusable, and that can be recycled into other lesson plans, whenever possible.

The Lab "pops-up" at schools, youth organizations, and public areas and stays for extended periods of time to enable students to dig deep in STEAM and sustainable learning.

  • Open to boys and girl in grades k-12

  • Variety of in and out-of-schools programs

  • Mentored by trained staff and core volunteers

  • Pops-up in any community

The Lab now has bees!

Kim Falinski of Nalo Melo Honey shared bees from her hive at Auntie Joce's from Kahala. The bees are now in the observation indoor beehive awarded to PULS from Whole Kids Foundation and The Bee Cause.

The Lab is now at Niu Valley Middle School!

For the next month, the STEM Club and after-school program will "BEE Part of the Solution" using the observation indoor hive as a tool to learn about bees and teach the wider the community.

What's New this Month?

We have many to thank, including individuals and entities who have  provided funding and in-kind donations and services, as well as the host lab sites.
